Boko Haram Members Are Not Muslims – Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saiad Abubakar III has described the Boko Haram sect as anti-Islam contrary to what the sect want people to believe
 

The Sultan said this on Thursday, September 24, in his Sallah message to Muslims faithful in the country.
He said: ”Insurgency is against the tenets of Islam and it is against the cultures and norms of Muslims in Nigeria and the world over.”
Commenting on the current military campaign to flush out Boko Haram elements from the country, he said that the effort of the military is paying off.

In his words: “We must commend the various security agencies in the country for their sustained efforts in taming the menace of insurgency and other related crimes in the nation.
“These commendable efforts must be sustained to avoid complacency and to sustain the giant strides in this direction.
“We are also commending security agencies in the state for working round the clock to ensure the prevalence of sustainable peace and security.”

He attributed the relative peace witnessed in the north  and the country in general as a sign of good government and praised the federal government for boosting the morale of security agencies involved in the fight against insurgency.
Abubakar tasked wealthy persons in the country to help to complement the efforts of government to eradicate poverty through employment creation.
The Defence Headquarters has revealed how Boko Haram sects who are aliens now gained entrance into the country with fake identity cards.
According to the acting spokesman of defence information, Colonel Rabe Abubakar, member of the sects have obtained fake National Identity card from unauthorised agencies.
He added that anyone caught issuing national identity card except statutory National Identity Management Commission would be arrested by the military.
