Real Madrid 3-2 Sevilla (AET): Carvajal magic decides UEFA Super Cup

The right-back took a leaf out of Diego Maradona's book to cut Sevilla's backline to shreds, after Sergio Ramos had earlier kept them in the game with a last-minute equaliser

An outstanding goal from Dani Carvajal won the UEFA Super Cup in the final minute of extra time as Real Madrid prevailed 3-2 over Sevilla.

Marco Asensio's long-range strike had given Madrid the lead in Trondheim, before Franco Vazquez and Yevhen Konoplyanka, from the spot, put Jorge Sampaoli's men in the ascendancy.

Some slack defending in the final minute of regular time, however, allowed Sergio Ramos to level matters, and Sevilla's task was made even harder when Kolo saw red in extra time for a second booking.

Ramos saw another header ruled out for a foul, but Carvajal finally decided matters as he streaked down the right wing and smashed home past Sergio Rico to win the title for his side.
