UBTH Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tourney tees off

History will be set tomorrow at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) Golf Club when the long awaited Club Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament tees-off at the club golf course, Benin City. The tournament, initially billed to tee-off August 22nd, was postponed due to logistics reasons will be keenly competitive as a brand new Kia Picanto car has been slated for the winner of the hole-in-one at the tournament.
The tournament is being organized by the club under the captainship of Brigadier General Adamu Jida with support from the 4th Brigade Command of the Nigerian Army, Precious Palm Royal hotel, Bosh Construction, Dr. Mojered Momoh and Hon. Daniel Mayuku. Competition secretary of the club, Benedict Oghumah, revealed that all was set for the historic tournament where over one hundred and fifty golfers in both professional and amateur ranks, from fifteen golf clubs across the federation will take part at the one day event. He noted that the club is fully prepared to host a befitting tournament as trophies and various prizes would be given to all those who distinguished themselves during the event. “We have received entries from IBB Golf and Country Club Abuja, Ibori Country and Golf Club, Asaba; Air Assault, Port Harcourt; Ikoyi Golf Club; Ikeja Golf Club, Lagos.
