Eid-El Kabir: Army Restricts Movement In Borno

As part of it security measures against any attack from the deadly Boko Haram terror group, as muslims celebrate Eid-El Kabir, the Nigerian Army has announced a restriction of movement in Borno State.
The restriction which will be in force from 5pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, till the end of the celebrations was disclosed on Wednesday by Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Tukur Gusau in a statement.

“The restriction on vehicular movements will be observed during the Eid Kabir celebrations throughout the state”.
“All movements using vehicles, bicycles and animals like horses, camels and donkeys in Maiduguri will be restricted as from Wednesday 5:00pm (1700hrs) 23 September 2015.”

“Similarly, all vehicular movements into and out of Maiduguri town will also be restricted within the period till further notice”.
“The decision was in line with the new resolve of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies in Operation LAFIYA DOLE to ensure that the people of Borno state enjoy a hitch free Sallah celebrations,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna state government has closed all state recreational facilities and parks ahead of the celebration.
According to the state’s security council the directive is to ensure hitch free celebration in the state.
