Nigerians from all spheres of life have expressed their displeasure over the recent wedding of Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II to an 18-year-old princess from Adamawa.
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reportedly married the teenager, Princess Sa’adatu Barkindo-Musdafa, daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo-Musdafa on Saturday.
Nigerians are of the opinion that at his age, 54, he was not supposed to have gotten married to a girl of 18, as his fourth wife, while some believe since he lashed out at others for doing same, he ought to have had a re-think before reaching a conclusion.
Below are some of the tweets by angry Nigerians:
Marrying an 18 year old is like eating a chicken that just hatched. Let it mature before you butcher it. #ChildNotBride
